The 13 districts in Uttarakhand are Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi.

The lakes are marked based on National Remote Sensing Center report titled Glacial Lake Atlas of Ganga River Basin (2021).
The wetlands are marked based on report titled Wetlands of Uttarakhand (2012), jointly published by the Uttarakhand Forest Department and WWF India.
The National Park, Wildlife Sanctuary, Conservation and Biosphere Reserve are marked as per data available at Uttarakhand Forest Department

An index of sheet number for Open Series Map (1:50K scale) is specified. The pdf version of the maps can be freely downloaded from Survey of India website.
Georefencing a map with the help of a GIS (geographic information system) software like QGIS or ArcGIS, is simple; however, trekkers and enthusiasts can check 'Open Series Map' where all Open Series Maps for Uttarakhand has been georeferenced and can be viewed against different layers of basemap.
The Open Series Map (1:50K scale) of regions bordering Nepal and China is not available in public domain.
